ABOUT SUSAN DALY STEARNS, ESQ.
Susan Daly Stearns is a licensed trademark attorney with over 15 years specializing in U.S. and foreign trademark law and counseling; having worked in large law firms and as in-house counsel for a multi-national consumer products company. Susan's expertise also includes trademark licensing, copyright, domain name dispute resolution, and consumer product advertising and packaging issues. Susan opened her boutique IP firm† with the goal of providing first-rate trademark counseling and legal services to both individuals and businesses at affordable rates. Susan's extensive practice as in-house corporate trademark counsel and her large law firm experience uniquely qualify her to provide guidance and counseling not only from a traditional legal perspective but also from a business perspective. Her location in Central Oregon and minimal overhead allows her rates to be lower than those of attorneys and firms with comparable experience. Trademark law is a passion and family tradition for Susan. Susan's father prior to his retirement was a renowned trademark lawyer and shortly after Susans graduation from law school she began her trademark practice working with her father. Preceding Susan?s decision to open her own practice, Susan was an intellectual property attorney with one of the largest general practice firms, Greenberg Traurig, LLP‡ focusing her practice in all aspects of trademark law, copyright registrations and domain name disputes. Prior to Greenberg Traurig, Susan was in-house trademark counsel for Sunbeam Corporation managing an international trademark portfolio of over 6,000 registrations worldwide, including such "famous" marks as SUNBEAM, COLEMAN, OSTER, FIRST ALERT and MR. COFFEE. Susan is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY and she obtained her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1990.
